The Corporate Water Disclosure Framework provides a comprehensive and structured approach for companies to report their water management practices transparently and effectively. It outlines key elements and metrics to consider when disclosing water-related information, helping businesses communicate their efforts toward sustainable water use and risk mitigation to stakeholders.
The framework covers three core areas:
Company Water Profile: This section outlines the company's water context, including its operational locations, water sources, and any unique water-related challenges.
Defining What to Report: Here, the framework helps companies identify which water-related metrics are most relevant and material to their business, ensuring that reporting is focused and meaningful.
Detailed Disclosure: This section guides companies in reporting specific details about their water management strategies, goals, performance, and impacts. It covers topics such as water withdrawal, consumption, discharge, recycling, and engagement with stakeholders.
The Water Resilience Assessment Framework (WRAF) is a powerful tool for companies seeking to build long-term water resilience and safeguard their operations against future disruptions. This comprehensive guidance offers a standardized approach to assess and enhance water resilience across diverse industries, regardless of size or geographic footprint. By utilizing the Water Resilience Indicators and Resilience Scoring Tool, businesses can measure their progress and identify areas for improvement. Practical examples throughout the guidance illustrate how to implement each step effectively, making it accessible for both small businesses and large corporations. With the WRAF, companies can proactively integrate resilience into their strategies and practices, ensuring sustained success in a water-stressed world.
Developed by the project team, the Resilience Scoring Tool – ReST 1.0 for corporates is a user-friendly Excel tool that can be used to select key resilience indicators, based on relevant system components and subcomponents under each of the resilience characteristics. The ReST can be used by businesses to explore and build their resilience across on-site operations, supply chains, and systems. The tool is designed to complement and build on many of the existing corporate water stewardship materials and traditional stewardship and risk-based information.
